How Informed works: sourced news summaries

One story, several sources

Informed is an iPhone news app that brings together Australian and world news. Instead of reading several versions of the same event, start with one concise summary drawn from multiple publishers.

Stories are written by AI from published reporting. Source links let you check the original articles and see where each point came from. Informed is a guide to the reporting, not a replacement for the publishers behind it.

Start with the key points, then go deeper

Read the summary when you need a quick catch-up. Open a full report when you want more context. Save stories you want to return to and follow updates in the app.

Ask a follow-up question

Ask about something you want explained. Answers draw on the sources behind the story and link back to the reporting, so you can explore the evidence yourself.

Keep a critical eye

AI can make mistakes, and reporting can change as a story develops. Check the linked sources for important decisions. Report a problem from the story or contact us through corrections and support.
